Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher are found on the country island of Ireland. The cliffs are located in County Clare which is on the South-western side near Doolin. These cliffs reach into the sky at heights ranging from 394 feet (120 m) at Hag’s Head to the highest peak of 702 feet (214 m) at O’Brien’s Tower.
Visitors who approach the cliffs from the ocean waters will find a massive wall extending along the coast for approximately 5 miles (8 km). This wall is awe-inspiring and serves as an impenetrable barrier to enemies approaching the island.
For those who make their way to the upper edges of the cliffs, they will discover phenomenal views that may include looking out on the Aran Islands. The greatest vantage point comes from O’Brien’s Tower which is the highest point along the cliff walls. Aran Islands, the Twelve Pins, Galway Bay, and the Maum Turk Mountains may all be seen. The cliffs are also known as the Cliffs of Mohair with the Irish language translating into, “cliffs of the ruin.”
