This statistical significance along with the aesthetic presentation of the mountain is what earned it the designation as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Oceania.

Fraser Island

Fraser Island is Australia’s sixth largest island, but it is the largest sand island in the world. The island is located near the southern coast of Queensland. The ecosystem of the island includes mangrove forests, eucalyptus forests, peat swamps, coastal heaths and of course sand dunes. The volcanic bedrock serves as an excellent net to catch the sand and sediment carried in the waters along the shore. Accordingly, the island is growing every year.
